As the end of the holiday season approaches, the days get shorter and the harvest is brought in, it's good to reflect on just how far our community has moved on in the past few years. It was a proud moment having these achievements recognised very recently in the Eastern Daily Press with a two page article.
The shop is thriving and is part of the village hub, especially on a Wednesday when the weekly Coffee Morning brings people from all over the three villages to meet up to enjoy a chat over a hot drink and delicious cakes presented by our 'C' team, Chris and Carol.
Over the road the White Horse Inn, refurbished and reopened this year is fast gaining a reputation for interesting beers and good food, and with a micro brewery opening next year things just get better and better!
The New Victory Hall is one of the most unique and eco-friendly village halls in Britain, and it's in the centre of Neatishead. It's not only a venue for many village groups including the W.I. and the Neatishead and Barton Society drama group, but for a monthly Farmers' Market, Community Gym, Village Screen Cinema, the list goes on.
Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios are represented by the talented Artists and Makers of the Two Rivers Trail, who open their studios every year, and have a celebrated Festive Fair each year in the Victory Hall.
Five minute walk from the shop in a complex of 18th century barns you can find a swimming pool and Indulge Beauty Salon, five minutes in the other direction and you are at the village Staithe just a short boat trip from Barton Broad.
So if you are on holiday we are well worth a visit, and who knows, you might even decide to stay!
